Rules for Finatic 2016

The quiz will begin from 10th October, 2016. The question will be put up at 5:00 PM

everyday.

The Quiz is open to anyone in the world. However, the prizes are limited to undergraduate students from India. Participation can be individual or in teams of 2. Cross-College teams are allowed.

To help us keep tab of the participants, please add yourself as a ‘follower’ on the blog.

Following is the format of the quiz-

PRELIMS (10-16 October):

Seven  connect type questions will be posted at 5 PM on daily basis.

Points to correct answers (with explanations) will be given according to the rule:

        HARD QUESTIONS: 20

        MEDIUM QUESTION: 15

        EASY QUESTIONS: 10

    Any correct answer without explanation will be given 10, 5 and 2 points for a hard, medium and easy question respectively.

For connect questions, the participants are required to give explanations for at least n-2  connect images to obtain full points. (where ‘n’ is the total number of connect images in the question) For any question with 3 images, explanation for at least 2 images will be required.

Top 20 teams will qualify for The eliminator.

THE ELIMINATOR (18-19 October):

In eliminator, we have a Grand Connect question. The Grand Connect will draw on answer from four different connect questions with two questions posted everyday for two days.

 You will have the opportunity to try for the Grand Connect after every Connect question posted. If you crack the Grand Connect together with the explanation after the nth Connect question, you will get 20(5-n) points. For instance, if you get the Grand Connect together with the explanation after 2 Connect questions, you will get 20(5-2) points, or 60 points.

Note: The scoring and rules for the connect is same as in PRELIMS.

FINALS (21 October):

The finals will be a 90 seconds rapid fire.
